Happy First Halloween!!!

Here come the holidays and you are SO ready for your very first Halloween! I think you already understand the excitement.
Lots of pumpkin carving with your brothers and looking like a Halloween treat just for Mama!

The farthest thing from Frankenstein! :)

Hangin' with the pumpkins :)

It was very fitting that for your first Halloween our little eating champ would be the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar :).
Your brothers were SO excited to show you how to trick-or-treat!
And I know for a fact that your first trick or Treat to Mr. Charlie and Ms. Carol's house had them wanting to "eat" you too! :)
Exhausted from Halloween fun!
Happy First Halloween Jonathan!!

Island Fun

Oh how much we loved Topsail Island!!!
Our annual family vacation has become a treasure for all of us and you enjoyed it just as much as if you had been there before!
Beach Beauty!

Chillin with Mama on the lower porch, away from the sun.

A delicious meal and then you for dessert :) hee hee

Every time your brothers went running in to the waves or were building in the sand, you were kicking away, trying so hard to get going!
Don't you worry! You'll be right in there by next year!

Your first vacation!

AND, your first dip in the ocean!
Not so sure about this...we think he was praying or trying to make it go away :)

We wonder if you will be as in love with the sea as your brothers. :)
As the sun sets on our daily walks on the beach after dinner, Mama's heart skips a beat because this time next year, you will be toddling around the sand, probably crawling face first in to the waves just as your brother Christian did! (Sigh)
For now I am basking in your sweet baby smell as you sleep soundly on Mama's chest listening to the waves!

Two Months Old!

Can it be true???
You are so amazing and delicious and Mama is so in love with you! Happy 2 month birthday my sweet, beautiful baby boy!

You were so brave for your 4 shots today (FOUR!!!)!!! Mama was not. Even on the third time around, Mama HATES when her babies have to get shots. Even though I know it's the best thing to do. There is no faster way to bring tears to Mama's eyes.
But you were a trooper! And slept the rest of the morning....even with the fever that followed :(
I love you Jonathan, more than you will ever, ever know!

Thank you Moby.....

for all these years!
You're still the favorite with my boys. And my go to helper when I need my hands but my boys need their Mama!

Couldn't have packed for a week long vacation without you! :)

Brotherly love

What does brotherly love look like?
Like these two wonderful big brothers! Who want to play with you in any way they can!
Tonight they made you a feast....and explained each and every course/plate.

They were slightly frustrated that they couldn't put this all in your swing (how can he reach it Mama?). But they were good listeners and resorted to the floor, lifting piece by piece so you could "taste" it :)
So proud of these boys!!

Why not just skip the 1-2 size diapers???

Jonathan decided the size 1-2 were fun for about a week....and then we moved to size 3!!!!
He is our little chunky monkey :)
Here he is rockin the favorite diaper from Aunt Megan and Uncle Daniel :) It was a favorite around the house...what do you think Aunt Maaagan?? :)

These are a few of my favorite things.....

I love you more than all the stars in the sky Jonathan. And being with you every minute of every day has given Mama the wonderful opportunity to get to know so many of your amazing qualities! And here are my most favorite little "things" about you so far (it's really everything about you :)...but I'm going to put these down on "paper" so I will always remember them!):

Your "touchdown" stretch after you're done eating and I am lifting you to my chest to burp. You scrunch up that little face, raise both arms as if signaling a touchdown - which I think you learned in utero and you certainly feel celebratory after eating SO much! :) - and then you sigh. I love it each and every time!!

How you still "fit" on my chest. Even though you are growing so fast, and now you are the full length of my torso, you still "fit". Oh how you will never know how very much I cherish this! It is a time that goes by too quickly! Soon you will be so big like your brothers, where Mama can barely lift you anymore, all big legs, big muscles, and HUGE! But for now, I am savoring every single minute you sleep on my chest, every single minute you lay there to burp, so contented. Your Mama is in heaven as much as you are!

Those little tufts of ear hair - one on the back edge of each ear!
These little tiny clumps of hair on the tiny little edge of your each of your ears are so small that I can't capture them with the camera (I have tried and tried!). And they are slowly falling out and disappearing :(. But every time I see them I smile....someday when you are in your 90's and Mama is up in heaven looking down on you, I bet you will grow hair on the edge of your ears again....maybe in these same spots....probably to your dismay...and I will be smiling, remembering how you had these tiny little tufts from the first moment you were born.

The long staring contests we have. How is it possible that someone so small can hold me in a trance. Your eyes are like a navy blue but sometimes look like those hurricane swirls on the radar. You and I are so connected and my most favorite moment of the day is when we are looking at each other and you suddenly break in to a huge smile! Mama wishes I could make you smile like that forever and ever!

Your little birdie noises which remind me, for lack of any better description, of the smallest little baby goose noises :) I've captured some of those noises on video :) but oh how I adore them. When you are happy or sad you sound like a little goose :) hee hee!

How you love to rest on your hands and arms. You did this in utero - we saw it so often on the ultrasounds - and we love when you lie on your side and rest your cheeks on your arm, or how you love to rest your chin on your folded arms while up on Mama's shoulder. You are too precious for words!
