My mom had this hanging in her house when we were growing up. And now I have it hanging in Jonathan's nursery! It makes me cry when I whisper it to him each day. There is no better truth in these first few months of precious new Baby!
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait til tomorrow
for babies grow up we've learned to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs,
dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby,
and babies don't keep.
And in the wee hour of the morning, when I'm not thinking about cleaning at all but instead sleep :) I find myself singing lots of new songs to Jonathan. Our favorite is my go-to that I have sung to all of my boys....the theme song from Tarzan :)
But now I find myself smiling and singing "Getting to Know You" from the King and I, one of the songs from Frozen (it's not the Let it Go song but that would seem appropriate :)), and Christopher Cross' "Sailing" from the 1980's.....hmmm. I have no idea where that one came from! :) Regardless, Jonathan loves them all and I love him! :)
