Rockin the Chunkiness :)
Lord, I love this little boy!!!
He is a super eater and his cheeks tell no lies :) Bring on the chunkiness!!
He has no idea how much pride his Mama feels when people ooh and aah at his cheeks and his rapid growth! Dr. March's quote for the day as he peeked under the stroller blanket was... "Oh my God, look how big he is! What are you feeding this kid??" Keep loving that Nummy milk Jonathan!

Honestly....
these are the cutest diapers ever! Thank you Aunt Maaagan!! :)
The Honest diapers are actually so cute that it seems wrong to pee and poop in them....but seeing my little man in them makes me forget that. In fact, I can't wait to change him these days so I can put him in a new one :)
The skeleton diaper is by far the favorite of big brothers! :)
Jonathan likes them all :) Hee hee!

Meeting Nana!
Nana was so excited to be here and to hold you Jonathan!
She was all smiles as she cuddled with you and rocked with you in your nursery!
And she couldn't wait to hold you any minute Mama needed an extra hand (thank you Nana!!).
Mama was having deja vu seeing Nana holding you; she remembers a picture of when Nana was holding her first grandson, Benjamin shortly after he was born. We found that picture while she was here and we could not believe how much you look like your older brother! :)

Captain Papa
Papa has had over two solid weeks of glorious paternity leave and has been a HUGE help taking your big brothers to school and soccer, making sure homework gets done, and picking up dinners!
His new accessory over these two weeks is his "manly" beard....He says he just decided not to shave; I'm wondering if it is a reflection of his exhaustion trying to keep up with these boys :). Mama calls it his Captain's Beard! Your brothers' friends at the preschool don't even recognize him :)
We are going to miss having you here with us every day Papa!!! Paternity leave rocks!!

Meeting Grandpa John
Three Generations of Leonardo Men :) And your namesake little one! :)
Papa and Grandpa John could not be more proud.
I think Grandpa John loved your snuggles the most :). Can you tell how much you enjoyed those snuggles? :)
The two super heroes also had to get in on the action :)

My new mantra
My mom had this hanging in her house when we were growing up. And now I have it hanging in Jonathan's nursery! It makes me cry when I whisper it to him each day. There is no better truth in these first few months of precious new Baby!
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait til tomorrow
for babies grow up we've learned to our sorrow.
So quiet down cobwebs,
dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby,
and babies don't keep.
And in the wee hour of the morning, when I'm not thinking about cleaning at all but instead sleep :) I find myself singing lots of new songs to Jonathan. Our favorite is my go-to that I have sung to all of my boys....the theme song from Tarzan :)
But now I find myself smiling and singing "Getting to Know You" from the King and I, one of the songs from Frozen (it's not the Let it Go song but that would seem appropriate :)), and Christopher Cross' "Sailing" from the 1980's.....hmmm. I have no idea where that one came from! :) Regardless, Jonathan loves them all and I love him! :)

Cherishing the Little...
Oh how quickly we forget how very little you are when you arrive!!!
Mama just stares at your velvet soft feet and hands every minute (and I can't stop taking pictures!). All of your toes fit on one section of my finger! Your little nose is smaller than a button (and cuter!) and I watch in awe as your eyelashes have fanned out and begun to curl :).
My pictures can't even capture how precious and small you are.
Mama is madly in love with you little bundle bug!!
And although I will be SO proud as you grow to be big and strong like your brothers, for now I am soaking in every little piece of you!
Just a little ball of goodness on the changing pad that you will someday fill! |

My dream come true!
Many of the folks reading this blog already know this, but I'm going to put it here so Jonathan can read about it and hear it from his Mama :)
There was one thing that Mama used to "dream" about when she was younger. It wasn't her wedding which is what a lot of people guess....
It was to someday have THREE BOYS!! :)
Your Mimi can attest to this from years ago when I was asked to babysit for a favorite drafting teacher in high school. He needed someone for the whole summer and I took the job. He had three boys! And the very first day I came home I announced to Mimi that someday, I wanted to have three boys. It was the best babysitting job I ever had; they kept me on my toes everyday and made me laugh out loud. I still think of them all the time and faint when I see the men they have grown to become when we are visiting at home!
There was also Mama's favorite show that just fed the fuel :)You won't have any idea about this show but Mama will show it to you one day. I purchased the third season (how appropriate!) the day after you were born! :)
With you, Jonathan, Mama's dream has come true! You are my third little angel and I am so very, very happy!
MY three boys!! Oh how awesome it feels when dreams come true :)

Two Weeks Old
My little prince is already two weeks old. I can't believe how quickly the days go! :( It will only be a matter of time before he doesn't fit in newborn clothes anymore!
But for now, he's as big as the adorable teddy bear his Great Nana got for him! :)
Happy 2 week birthday sweet Jonathan!
